“Malaria Experimental Genetics”

On 23-27 April 2018, Faculty of Tropical Medicine, Mahidol University hosted the training course on “Malaria Experimental Genetics”. This training course was organized by the Wellcome Genome Campus Advance Course. Our faculty has been chosen as the venue for this course for the second time. As this course was conducted very successfully back in March, 2015.

There were total of 20 participants in this training course, from 9 different countries 🇳🇪️ 🇲🇾️ 🇦🇺 🇸🇬️ 🇳🇿 ️️🇯🇵 🇨🇳🇰🇭 🇹🇭️️️. The instructors of this course were affiliated with Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, UK. During these five days’ training, participants received both lectures 👩‍💻 and hand-on lab experience 👩‍🔬on topics related drug-resistant malaria. These included CRISPR-Cas9 system designed, Plasmodium falciparum and P. knowlesi transfections, Genotyping as well as drug assays.
